Whirlpool Bath

Balneotherapy, Hydrotherapy

What is a whirlpool bath
This treatment is taken in a warm bath at the temperature of 33-36°C with currents of whirling water. The whirlpool bath lasts between 15-20 minutes and is followed by a dry wrap and bed rest for another 10-15 minutes. It is an individual procedure.

How a whirlpool bath helps
The effects of whirling and warm water currents are multiple: the vigorous water massage improves blood circulation and metabolism, relaxes stiff muscles, joints and a stressed mind, and stimulates nerve receptors in the skin and dermis to facilitate body awareness.

Aroma oils, essences or peat extract can be added to the water to enhance the experience of the whirlpool bath. Apart from individual bath, several of our hotels offer also large whirlpools for groups. Just ask at the hotel or spa reception about the local offer.

The presence of peat extract brings additional contraindications: malignant tumours and blood disorders (recent or past), pathological cervical screening (pap smear).

Advisable for:

Not advisable for:

Infectious diseases, fever, acute inflammation, untreated or uncontrolled hypertension, epilepsy, acute thrombosis, phlebitis, leg ulcers and other skin defects, endometriosis, certain skin diseases, shortness of breath, incontinence, pregnancy, psychosis, alcohol or drug abuse, menstruation, malignant tumours and blood disorders, incapacitation
