Golf Clubs in and around Mariánské Lázně

King Edward VII opened this golf course in 1905. It is the oldest golf course in the Czech Republic and this 18-hole course is also the only golf club in Continental Europe to have earned the title of “Royal Golf Club”, which Queen Elizabeth II bestowed on it in 2003. It lies right outside of the Emperor’s Forest, only three kilometres from the city centre. Unlike newer courses, its small greens pose big challenges to the players. Precise play and technical skills are a must here: water hazards, steep drops, and a large number of sand traps require concentration. The surrounding forest offers plenty of shade, as well as fresh air in the summer. The golf course also enjoys a beautiful view over the surrounding landscape. The clubhouse’s traditional English style complements the golf course perfectly and provides the perfect setting for the many international competitions that take place here. Play golf on this course and feel a bit of the old-England sensibility that the course has preserved. A round of golf at the Marienbad Royal Golf Club is always a delight for the eyes, especially in the autumn as the leaves change their colour.

This golf course is much newer than the Royal Golf Club Marienbad. It was opened in 2008 and lies just seven kilometres from Marienbad. The course blends in seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, and part of it lies in the park of Kynžvart Castle, which formerly belonged to Austrian State Chancellor Metternich. This 18-hole course wins golfers over with high quality facilities that merge modernity with the history of its surroundings. The comfortable and friendly atmosphere, as well as the club’s extensive offerings, promise an unforgettable golf experience to professionals and amateurs alike. Children are very welcome as well, making the Kynžvart Golf Club an exceptional choice for golf-loving families.

Located 13 kilometres from Marienbad, this 9-hole golf course lies in the heart of the Emperor’s Forest nature reserve. It shares a direct border with the famous Monastery which gives it its name. If you prefer a quicker game of golf, this is the place for you. The distances between the holes are short, and few water hazards and sand traps make for a less challenging game. The game does unfold over a course with smaller greens, groves of trees, bushes, and high grasses, however. Open since 1996, this golf course is ideal for less-experienced golfers. In addition to the 9-hole course, there is also a putting green for practicing, a driving range, and a 6-hole pitch & putt training course. Spend a relaxing day playing golf here in a scenic setting.
